Around 38 years ago, the land which was wasteland, the Pardi Education Society established J P Pardiwala Arts and Commerce College in 1981 with a purpose to cater higher education to the students of this tribal and rural area. 

In the beginning, the Institution has no building of its own. The College worked from the building of a grant-in-aid higher secondary school D. C. O. Sarvajanik High School, Killa-Pardi, run by the same Management. With the donation from a Parsi Philanthropic Trust Jehangirji Pestonji Pardiwala Trust, the Institution got its own building in 1986. On 1 September, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Madhavsinh Solanki laid the foundation-stone of the College building.

In the beginning, there were just 74 students in the faculty of Arts and 168 students in the faculty of Commerce. Today, there are more than 1100 students studying in the UG and PG sections of the College. At one time of its history, the College has around 1700 students. Thus an institution started with just 242 students has become today a throbbing education hub of the area. 

The most of the students of the College belong to economically and socially backward classes. The alumni of the College adorn the posts from a constable to PSI, from a bank clerk to the director of a bank, and from a teacher to the principal of a college. 

The Institution has sufficient infrastructural facilities such as separate buildings for library and gymnasium, big and well-maintained playground, beautiful lush green garden, well-furnished and well-ventilated classrooms etc. The dedicated, qualified and experienced teachers are engaged in the development of the holistic development of the students. 

The Institution introduced History as a Post Graduate Program in 1989-90. Gujarati as a Post Graduate Program was introduced in 2009-10. Taxation as a self-financed vocational course was introduced in 1986. 

So far 13 brilliant students of the College topped the University. From among them, 5 students won the gold medals in B.A. (History) and 7 students won the gold medals in M.A. (History) and 1 in B.A. (Hindi).
